Yesterday at San Diego Comic Con ’22, BOOM! Studios announced a new crossover series featuring two classic fighting teams. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will cross paths yet again in a new event miniseries. Writer Ryan Parrott and artist Dan Mora will bring Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II to life. The series, co-published by BOOM! Studios and IDW Publishing, launches in December.

The MMPR and TMNT first teamed up back in 2019 in a five-issue series by Parrott, artists Simone De Meo and Alessio Zonno, colorists Walter Baiamonte and Igor Monti, letterer Ed Dukeshire, and cover artist Mora. As BOOM! describes the new series:

MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES II is a brand new adventure with two of the most iconic teen crime-fighting teams coming together once again to save the world from a rising danger that threatens to bring both teams to the brink!

In a statement announcing the new series, BOOM! Studios senior editor Dafna Pleban teased what readers can expect from the new crossover:

“The first Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team up resulted in iconic moments such as the reveal of the Green Ranger Shredder, the Ninja Rangers, and the mighty Turtlezord!” said Dafna Pleban, Senior Editor, BOOM! Studios. “But if you think there’s nothing that could top that, just wait ‘til you see what’s up next for both teams as they face familiar faces and unexpected villains in an adventure full of the new shocking twists and turns!”

Look for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II #1 to arrive in stores and digitally in December 2022.
