Hall H was filled to the brim for Funko’s first ever Hall H panel on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con!

The panel started out with Eddie Ibrahim, the director of programming of SDCC, welcoming attendees and progressed to show a clip on the screen of past Funko POP! Talk Guests building the excitement for the continuation of the panel.

Then comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias came out onto the stage to hype guests and introduce Funko co-founders Mike Becker and Claudia Becker. Fluffy also showed off his all-new Funko POP, “Black Light Fluffy”.

They then proceeded to show the “future of fun,” previewing upcoming Ted Lasso POPs, the first ever light and sound Batman Funko, Spider-Man: No Way Home Funkos of the three Spider-Men and Doc Ock, the “Itty Bitty Soda POP! Line, a Michael Jordan Funko Vinyl Gold, Mondo Statue Godzilla, and King Ghidora.

But the most surprising announcement yet was that Funko is working on a AAA action platformer game with the help of 10:10 Games. Set to release in 2023, Funko is taking a massive leap and joining the multi-billion-dollar video game business.

But the surprises didn’t end there as attendees were told they would receive an exclusive POP upon redeeming their ticket from attending this panel. The POPs would be randomly chosen between the Demogorgon from Stranger Things, Shang-Chi, or Ahsoka Tano, among a few others. The POPs were made exclusively for that panel and would never be available elsewhere.

Funko also announced its upcoming con events: D23 Expo 2022, Funkon II 2022, Frightmare on Fun Street at New York City Comic Con 2022, and Fright Night II New York. They also announced what the future holds for FunTV, such as programs like Freddy’s Fun House, POP! Around The World, and Inside Artists’ Studios.

Finally, Funko introduced their Special Celebrity Guests, Cobra Kai‘s William Zabka, Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson, and Shang-Chi actor Simu Liu. The three of them went through a fun lightning round of questions, each talking about their likes and experiences in their careers. Bella Poarch then made a surprise arrival to announce her upcoming POP release!

Funko left a strong impression on “Funatics” and made future products and events stay in attendees’ minds as all they can do is wait for these incredible releases.
