Bringing their cast one month prior to their upcoming release Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the cast and crew give us an exclusive look at the first 20 minutes of the film and all new information about our hero’s next adventure.

The panel began with Crunchyroll’s Lauren Moore introducing guests, Toshio Furukawa (Japanese voice of Piccolo), Christopher Sabat (English voice of Piccolo), and producer Norihiro Hayashida.

With anticipation building up, Hayashida describes the new “3D CG” animation being implemented in the movie as meaning you’ll be able to tell that the movie uses both 2D and 3D. Equal effort has been put into both, Hayashida said, adding that fans will love the way it looks.

Sabat and Furukawa had a back-and-forth discussion over the character they both play, and how Sabat was finally meeting his counterpart in person even though he has heard his voice for so many years. Then finally, Hall H attendees were presented with the first 20 minutes of the film.

In the next installment of Dragon Ball Super, the Red Ribbon Army makes its appearance once more! They are an old enemy from Dragon Ball Z and have been operating in secret. Its spirit is carried by Magenta, the son of Commander Red, the old leader of the Red Ribbon Army. With help from the grandson of Dr. Gero, Dr. Hedo, has created an all-new android, Gamma 2. This eventually leads to a fight with Piccolo. The screen then cuts to black showing the August 19th release date. Teasing fans and making them crave more!

Following the end of the panel, a new trailer dropped leading fans to ask even more questions as all they can do is sit and wait for our heroes’ next adventure. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is due in theaters on August 19th.
