Writer Steve Niles is back at Dark Horse with a new horror graphic novel. Niles is teaming with artist Piotr Kowalski for Satan’s Swarm, a story about what happens when the terrors of science meet those of the natural world. The book is colored by Lovern Kindzierski and lettered by Nate Piekos.

Here’s how Dark Horse describes Satan’s Swarm:

Dr. Philip Morgan invites entomologists, young influencers, and a reporter, amongst others, to his secluded coastal research facility for a mysterious and bizarre study. What they find is a zoo of death, where local residents have been eaten to the bone, and the specimens they have come to understand have them on the menu next.

Steve Niles has had work published by Dark Horse for nearly thirty years, most notably the Criminal Macabre series with a number of different artists, and Freaks of the Heartland with artist Greg Ruth. It’s Niles’s latest teaming with artist Piotr Kowalski; the writer and artist have previously worked together on Monster World in 2015-16, and a 2017-18 reimagining of 30 Days of Night. Kowalski’s previous Dark Horse credits include Where Monsters Lie with writer Kyle Starks and All Eight Eyes with writer Steve Foxe.

The 72-page softcover graphic novel Satan’s Swarm is set to arrive in bookstores on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024, and in comic shops on Wednesday, April 3rd.
