Re:ZERO season 2 is officially coming to Crunchyroll. The announcement comes in on Thursday, just a few months following Crunchyroll’s December acquisition of the season 1 director’s cut with its winter 2020 slate.
Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World is an isekai anime adapted from the 2012 light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka. Studio White Fox animates the show, while Masaharu Watanabe (Naruto: Shippuden) directs and Masahiro Yokotani (The Devil is a Part-Timer!) handles writing.
The announcement comes long awaited by fans who’ve been eager for news since the second season was officially announced in March 2019 – nearly three years following the first season. Although Re:Zero faced complications due to COVID-19 and was pushed back from its planned April 2020 release, it still plans to meet the new July 2020 debut.
