One of the most exciting announcements of DC’s Rebirth initiative was the reveal of Gene Luen Yang’s newest title with the publisher: New Super-Man, the tale of the Super-Man of China: Kong Kenan! Teaming with Victor Bogdanovic, Richard Friend, and Hi-Fi, the first chapter of this new hero’s journey hit shelves on July 13th.

One of the elements in the lead-up to this series that particularly impressed me was just how thoughtfully Yang had delved into and revised the name of his new protagonist. Do take a read of this piece written by Yang himself if you get a chance over the long holiday weekend.
