A few months ago, Skybound announced a Creepshow 5-issue anthology series based on George A. Romero and Stephen King’s iconic 1982 film that has continued with the Greg Nicotero-helmed genre anthology series. Each issue of the five-part anthology will feature different creative teams from the worlds of comics, film, television, and beyond.
Today Skybound unveiled a new look at Creepshow #1 as legendary writers Paul Dini (Batman: The Animated Series) and Stephen Langford (Creepshow TV series) team up with artist John McCrea (Hitman) to petrify readers with the party antics of Shingo, the birthday clown with an appetite for more than cake! Dini and Langford have both collaborated on the current Creepshow television series co-writing episodes such as “Skincrawlers” and “The Right Snuff.”
All-star writer/artist Chris Burnham (Die! Die! Die!) also adds to the debut issue with a terrifying tale of trick or treaters who are taught what happens when you mess with the wrong house.
In addition to the main cover by Burnham featuring the iconic Creep, Creepshow #1 comes with an impressive lineup of variant covers. A cover by Declan Shalvey (Moon Knight) and a 1:10 incentive cover by singular artist Vance Kelly will also be available.
Upcoming creative teams include David & Maria Lapham (Stray Bullets), Steve Foxe (Razorblades: The Horror Magazine), Erica Henderson (Assassin Nation, Dracula, Motherf**ker), Francesco Francavilla (Night of the Ghoul, Detective Comics) and L Marlow Francavilla, Ariela Kristantina (Chain), Jorge Corona (The Me You Love in the Dark), and Steve Orlando (Spider Man 2099). Brian Witten is overseeing on behalf of Nicotero’s Monster Agency Productions. Each issue of the five-part anthology will feature uniquely horrifying standalone stories guaranteed to SCARE YOU TO DEATH.
