On November 15 Limerence Press, an imprint of Oni Press, announced the upcoming release of A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns. The educational comic is written by Archie Bongiovanni and Tristan Jimerson, with art by Bongiovanni. The black and white soft-cover will be an everyday guide for how to properly use they/them pronouns. It will also have helpful resources for those folks using they/them pronouns.

In the English language pronouns play an important role in how we make people feel included and welcome. It is closely linked with how we identify with the world and impacts some pretty important things, like our perception and assessment of self and how we fit in. That’s why asking others what their pronouns are and using the proper pronoun is so important. You may not currently possess the knowledge of how to use gender neutral pronouns, enter A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns.

The guide will follow Archie, a genderqueer artist and Tristan, a cisgender dude looking to introduce gender neutral pronouns in his workplace. The comic will cover topics like why pronouns matter, what to do if you make a mistake, and how to make the world safer for those who identify outside the binary.

From Limerence Press: “Not everyone has the time to explain how/why/huh of gender neutral pronouns,” said Archie Bongiovanni. “So we wrote a very approachable comic that helps explain the how/why/huh in addition to a few practical tips for cisgender and non-binary folks as well. We wanted to create a useful (but fun) reference that can be passed on to family, friends, co-workers, your boss, and strangers alike.”

“It’s important to have a way to introduce all people to gender neutral pronouns. I hope that this book can do that,” said Tristan Jimerson. “We live in a world where gender neutral language is becoming much more commonplace. This book is great as an introduction to someone unfamiliar with the concept.”

A Quick and Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns is scheduled for release on June 13, 2018 and remember, using the right pronoun is a non-negotiable.
