With apologies to the Big Two, one of the most exciting forthcoming superhero comics right now is Livewire, the first-ever ongoing series for one of the Valiant Universe’s best characters.
Helmed by writer Vita Ayala and artists Raul Allen and Patricia Martin, the first issue of that comic is set for release in December. It follows Amanda McKee, code name Livewire, through the aftermath of Harbinger Wars 2, an event that took place this summer and involved Livewire using her powers to destroy the nation’s (or maybe it was the world’s?) electrical grid, plunging everyone into a sudden power outage.
This new comic is a great mix of a character at the forefront of a publisher’s plans and a rising creative team, which in this case is Ayala (The Wilds, Submerged, Supergirl) and Raul Allen and Patricia Martin (Wrath of the Eternal Warrior, Secret Weapons, Wonder Woman).
