Batman #82, according to a new preview from DC Comics, will feature the long-awaited confrontation between the eponymous Batman and Bane, who has been tormenting Batman for several years-worth of comics now. This battle has been raging for so long, in fact, that it was actually at the center of writer Tom King’s pitch for Batman: Rebirth all those years ago.
King has said frequently in interviews and at comic conventions that his pitch for this run of Batman, which will conclude with Batman #85 in December, was simply Batman loves Catwoman; Bane is mad. Well, in this new preview, all of those elements are on display…along with the bare torsos of these two furious foes. Illustrated here by King’s regular collaborator, Mikel Janín, we see Bane and Batman strip off their shirts and start to wrestle as Catwoman looks on…and if all of that doesn’t describe King’s entire 85-issue run of comics in one scene, well, I don’t know what does.
Check out the skin-tastic preview after the jump:
It’s “City of Bane” part eight, as Mikel Janín rejoins Tom King for the climactic chapters of the epic, sold-out storyline that’s sent Gotham spinning into chaos and tragedy! Batman and his allies wage war on the City of Bane, but an unexpected turn of events will send everyone reeling. Will there be another death in the family, or can the Dark Knight break Bane’s iron grip over Gotham City?
