Next month AfterShock Comics will release Phantom on the Scan #5. The series, from writer Cullen Bunn, artist Mark Torres, and letterer Dave Sharpe, follows a group of six people with psychic abilities as they try to find a way to get rid of their powers before they’re killed by them. Today The Beat has an exclusive preview of the final issue of the series.

In the heart of the Trellux Institute, an unearthly power is awakening.
As their numbers dwindle, as their psychic abilities threaten to kill them, as a vicious murderer stalks them from the shadows, a group of gifted individuals discovers the terrifying truth about their powers.
Bunn, who has written a number of other titles for AfterShock including the forthcoming The Heathens, described his collaboration with Torres on the series back when the title was first announced:
“The moodiness and ambience of Mark’s art helped shape Phantom of the Scan into the dark sci-fi horror story that it is! I crafted the series in a way that I thought would really give Mark lots of room to scare the hell out of us!”
