Walt Disney Pictures released the first full trailer for the Pixar Animation movie Onward this morning, and it’s the first original non-sequel for the company since 2015’s The Good Dinosaur and Inside Out.

Featuring the voices of Tom Holland and Chris Pratt, last seen together in Avengers: Endgame, the movie follows two elf brothers, Ian and Barley, who find a magical item that can bring their long-dead father back, a plan that doesn’t go quite as planned, as you’ll see in the trailer. This sends them on a journey to finish the spell so that they can meet their father. (I guess the title “Elf Quest” was already taken?) The movie also features the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Octavia Spencer.

We previously saw a first look and a short teaser in May, but this new Onward trailer gives us a lot better idea of the tone and feel and look of the movie directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae of Monsters University.

Onward looks like a fun movie, but it also doesn’t look like any previous Pixar movie, and a lot of that might be just the fact that it’s been so long since we’ve seen a Pixar movie that wasn’t a sequel to another hit movie. (This is also the umpteenth trailer/commercial to rip-off Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver by using “Hocus Pocus” by Focus to drive the action.)

Onward opens on March 6, 2020, which will also make it the first Pixar movie to not get a summer or holiday release EVER. (Disney and DreamWorks both have had some success with animated movies in March, so it’s probably nothing to worry too much about.)
