While I don’t have the last minute panic others do, I like to take off the Wednesday before New York Comic Con just to scope out Javits, sleep in a little, and prepare my swag bag for the weekend.

So, here are some photos, “backstage” at NYCC!  (Photos courtesy of my Samsung Epic 4G 5mp camera. Kicking it old school…)

As you exit the 7 train, this is the view to the south. Hudson Yards 30 in the foreground, 10 in the back, and the six-storey shopping center and food court inbetween, on the lower middle.
2016-10-05-11-43-34
A closer view. Niemann-Marcus will anchor the shopping center, so the food court might be as expensive as that inside Javits.
2016-10-05-11-44-20
A vertical panoramic shot. 10 Hudson Yards is almost complete. The space to the west will be an elevated park which will connect to the subway plaza.
2016-10-05-11-45-19
The view to the southwest, over the railyard.
2016-10-05-11-45-55
55 Hudson Yards, which was under construction last year as well. View to the west.
2016-10-05-11-46-25
The view of 34th street, to the north. I took this, because within ten years, Eleventh Avenue will be lined with skyscrapers (including at least one new hotel!) and this view will only be seen on Google Street View.
2016-10-05-11-47-01
That’s the subway ventilation tower. I don’t think that exit is open yet on the 7 train. (I’ll check after I leave Javits.)
2016-10-05-11-48-08
The view north on Eleventh, from 34th.
2016-10-05-11-49-44
CBS All Access (their streaming service, which has an amazing catalog) buys the display space on the security fences.
2016-10-05-11-50-41
The view south, of 10, 30, and 55 Hudson Yards. A preview of what is to come further north. (Lens flare courtesy of J.J. Abrams)

Wow… that’s a lot of money spent to promote a movie based on a French comic book! Maybe they’re building on the experience of Snowpiercer?
2016-10-05-12-08-56
