IDW is no stranger to licensing properties from games to cartoons, but now the publisher is adding The Amazing Spider-Man to that list. Today they announced a new partnership with Marvel that will see the character come to their Library of American Comics imprint (LOAC). The wall-crawler’s long-running newspaper strip by Stan Lee, John Romita, and others will be collected in a series of deluxe new hardcover editions and as with all the other LOACs they’ve published will include full-color Sunday pages.
LOAC’s Spider-Man series will be edited by Bruce Canwell and designed by Dean Mullaney; winners of multiple 2014 Eisner Awards for Genius, Illustrated: The Life and Art of Alex Toth.
The Amazing Spider-Man, Volume 1 goes on sale in early 2015 bringing a little known part of the early Spidey history to a brand new generation of readers.
