Con season is well underway, with San Diego Comic Con just over a month away. If you’re not anxious enough about that, here comes all the NYCC news! As we head into overdrive mode, cons are making announcements left and right about guests, exclusives and more. On Wednesday, New York Comic Con announced its first wave of 2019 guests for its October show and the line-up is already massive — and massively exciting.

In addition to comics superstars like Marguerite BennettDonny CatesBrian K. VaughanMariko TamakiCharles Soule, and Joëlle Jones, entertainment guests include Christopher EcclestonAlexis DenisofBenedict WongJames MarstersCharlet ChungBilly BoydSean Astin and more.
It seems the majority of the Angel cast will be in attendance, which is appropriate since the show is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Boom! Studios is releasing a legacy collection of the comics in October, likely just in time for a NYCC debut. Members of the Deadly Class cast are also on the guest list, despite SyFy canceling the series earlier this week.
Of some note is the announcement of Star Trek‘s beloved Nichelle Nichols. Nichols has been diagnosed with dementia and some question her continued appearance at fan events; she’s also in the middle of a nasty battle over her conservatorship with relatives, alas. Nichols has also been announced as a guest at Keystone Comic Con in August.
That aside, NYCC is sure to be another star studded event, with even more guests announced as we get closer to October; after all, their teaser poster leaves space for “mystery guests.” To see the full list of entertainment and comics guests attending this year’s NYCC from Oct. 3-6, click here and stay tuned for more.
