Stand back, there’s a new verse in town: Oni Press is teaming with toy company Nacelle for a line of comics to be known as the Nacelleverse.

The Nacelle Company is known for producing much-quoted streaming hits including The Movies That Made Us, The Toys That Made Us, and A Toy Store Near You, as well as a line of collectibles which have a very pop culture bent – as the name of the company might hint. (A nacelle is one of the power tubes on the original Star Trek Enterprise.) ANd their moving into animation with ROBO FORCE and BIKER MICE FROM MARS, produced in partnership with Ryan Reynolds, and due later in ’24.

The Nacelleverse comics line from Oni will feature interconnected universe of all these iconic toy and animation properties, starting in spring of 2024. The line kicks off with NACELLEVERSE #0–an oversized, 40-page one-shot helmed by writer Melissa Flores (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) with art by Diogenes Neves (Realm of X, Suicide Squad) alongside more all-star artists from upcoming NACELLEVERSE comic series, including ROBO FORCE, BIKER MICE FROM MARS, SECTAURS, THE GREAT GARLOO, and POWER LORDS, with a wraparound cover by Mike Deodato, Jr. (New Avengers, The Flash).

Next up, ROBO FORCE #1 (of 3) which lays out the the 22nd century world of the NACELLEVERSE, the first of a slate of interconnected limited series from Flores. Robo Force is described as “a scrappy, overworked team of once-thought-obsolete robots who might just be Earth’s last, best chance at survival.” And it all ties in with the upcoming ROBO FORCE animated series.

Subsequent series will follow in 2024, devoted to the adventures of BIKER MICE FROM MARS, SECTAURS, THE GREAT GARLOO, POWER LORDS, and, one expects, MORE.

“This fantastic partnership with Oni Press helps us expand our storytelling capabilities in a way that we know resonates with fans – through the limitless power of comics and graphic novels. Building upon the rich history of the many fan-favorite toy lines that populate the NACELLEVERSE and building a roadmap for fans to enter the interconnected world of our upcoming animated series, these series will be tailor-made entry points for longtime fans and new readers. Before anyone hits play on one of our series, they’ll know exactly what the events leading up to the first fade are,” said Nacelle Founder and CEO, Brian Volk-Weiss.
