It’s time! Trade in those sandals and Pimms Cups for corduroy and pumpkin spice lattes. As Fall falls over us, another rite of the season is unfolding: NEW YORK COMIC-CON! And to kick things off, the full slate of programming is up, although not with full panel descriptions on one page. Our pals at NYCC  are working on getting us the full listing, and we’ll share it as soon as we can. In the meantime, despite cries that “NYCC is not about comics” you’ll note that 107 of the 266 panels are indeed comics focused, with another 42 covering graphic novels. although there is overlap. You’ll note there are also 58 TV panels, and 21 movie panels, so the people like their media panels.  Also 35 diversity panels because people love moving forward as a society and exploring the issues of a diverse fan culture.

Also of note: The Theater at MSG is back as a venue, and NEW this year: The New York Public Library main branch (the one with the lions from Ghostbusters) will be hosting a day of panels.

So, a busy busy time as always. The Beat will be flooding the zone with a battalion of reporters, as always. We still have a few openings on the team if you’d like to cover it for us! Email comicsbeat atgmail if you want to join the squad!
