Beloved New Yorker cover artist, painter, and cartoonist Eric Drooker returns with his third original graphic novel this fall. The Beat can exclusively announce Naked City, a comedy that follows three bohemians struggling to survive as artists in the 21st century.

Dark Horse Books will publish the hardcover, consisting of 336 pages, in October. The solicit text reads, “A young singer poses for a painter who has shifted from landscapes to nudes, and both of them learn a thing or two about the purpose of art and the meaning of success. The original graphic novel Naked City takes us inside the head of native New York artist, Eric Drooker.”

Following the American Book Award-winning Flood and Blood Song, which is being adapted into a film by director Phanuthep SutthithepthamrongNaked City will feature Drooker’s signature storytelling style and rich, expressive art. 

Naked City will be available in bookstores on October 8 and comic shops on October 9 for $29.99. Pre-orders are available now.
