Following the events of this week’s Avengers: Armageddon #4, Marvel Comics has confirmed David Colton, the new Miracleman, will join the line-up of Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto‘s Avengers relaunch in November. To wit, the publisher revealed the final version of Checchetto’s main cover, featuring Miracleman with Captain Marvel, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Wolverine, and Spider-Man, and a host of more variants for the first issue.

The comic’s updated synopsis reads, “In the aftermath of Armageddon, the world has turned its back on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes — but it may need them now more than ever as the devil has come to collect his due! When a demonic invasion erupts on Earth, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Wolverine, Luke Cage and Miracleman assemble to save a world that no longer trusts them. But the unpredictable David Colton may not be able to be trusted with his godlike new abilities. And when gods cry war… the world may pay the price.”
Colton was introduced as the War on Terror era Captain America in Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti‘s 2025 relaunch of Steve Rogers’s series, and his transformation into the new Miracleman was set up in this year’s Wolverine: Weapons of Armageddon (by Zdarsky and Luca Maresca), when Logan used an origin box (from the new Ultimate Marvel universe) to save his life. Colton gained greater powers as a result, but did not know the exact nature of them until this week’s issue of Armageddon.

The new Avengers #1 will be released on November 4, while the fifth and final issue of Armageddon will drop on October 21. Marvel also announced an extensive number of variant covers, many of which will be only available in blind bags, including one by Miracleman veteran Alan Davis. A Mark Spears variant will be only available in a True Believers’ Display Box, which will contain 19 other blind bagged copies. The full list of blind bag covers are as follows:
