Looks like convicted comic book store killer Michael George is running out of legal options:

A Macomb County Circuit Court judge has denied a motion for acquittal and a new trial in the case of a former Clinton Township comic book store owner convicted of killing his wife in 1990.

In a written ruling issued today, Judge Mary Chrzanowski dismissed arguments from defense attorney Carl Marlinga that there was insufficient evidence to convict his client, Michael George, who is serving a life sentence without parole.

Although the article doesn’t mention whether there can be further appeals, you’d have to think that George is left with few options any more.

George was convicted of killing his wife Barbara over 20 years ago in the back room of the comics shop they co-owned.

  1. the guy had almost 20 years of freedom after killing his wife, he should count himself lucky he had that amount of time before they threw him in the slammer.

I wonder if he’ll get to read comics, behind bars? :-O

  2. “I wonder if he’ll get to read comics, behind bars?”

That would constitute cruel and unusual punishment.

  3. It’s outrageous that he’s had as much time on the outside as he has–he killed that woman, stole her children and let his mistress raise them, turned them against her family, and bullied his mother into lying about his whereabouts. He is pure scum, a sociopath. Putting everything else aside, he deserves jail for the ridiculous crying jag and flailing about when he was convicted at his first trial. He couldn’t even be brave for his new wife and for his kids who for some insane reason thought he was innocent–it was all about him. Big whining baby. Hope he enjoys the rest of his sorry life in prison.

  4. Amen to Esme. Also ,the killer went in and out of the back door. He and his wife had the only keys. The door was locked when the police got there. It could only be locked with the keys. Case closed.

  5. I know it’s been years since your post but I just watched the 2 hour special on Dateline on ID. ESME did you notice that he didn’t even shed one tear after the guilty verdict during the 1st trial? That act was insulting to everyone’s intelligence.
I agree with everything you said. Spot on. He deserves life w/no parole just for what he’s done to his kids. How sick can you be? Sociopaths have no remorse. To never admit to your children what you’ve done and to let them be raised by your mistress is beyond sickening. And you have to imagine she knows what really happened, may have even participated. He will never admit the truth. He will go to his death bed proclaiming his unjust incarceration. At least it will be in a jail cell.
