This well-designed cover by Frank Cho might just deserve the “Nice Art” label.

That’s a big honkin’ logo…
Funny thing is, I see giganto-type of plenty of books in Barnes & Noble. Usually on the best-sellers. Most books by Janet Evanovich have NO artwork, just typography — which is why the cover paperback tie-into her new film is so jarring.
I admire the way the characters echo their team letters, and with that the implicit joke of Wanda becoming the “Scarlet A”. That’s more attention to composition than I believe Cho usually brings to his work. Nicely done.
Nice composition and I actually like the honkin’ big logo. But, um, each of Wanda’s breasts are as large as Hope’s (I think it’s Hope? I’m way behind on the X-men these days) head. Yikes.
That “Free Digial Copy Offer” box at the bottom ruins the cover… so obnoxious. What next? A big ass ‘Toys R Us’ banner at the top?!
Don’t knock it, Dennis. YOU could win a $500 shopping spree — which will buy you a lot less toys than it did thirty years ago.
Thirty years … eGad …
