A few short weeks ago, Marvel held a press conference for spoilers coming from Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy #3. In the conference, the publisher teased an upcoming Spider-Title that was coming directly from the events of the series. With a special Omega issue wrapping up the book, we can start to put some of the pieces together on a possible creative team for the upcoming title.
CBR picked up on a loose thread from The Clone Conspiracy: Omega solicit which included the following phrase: “the next big Spider-Book by Peter David & Mark Bagley.” We’re still a few issues away from the conclusion of Clone Conspiracy, as Marvel doesn’t quite seem ready to say what the title is quite yet, but that does seem to be a confirmation of an upcoming Spider-Series by Peter David (Spider-Man 2099) and Mark Bagley (Ultimate Spider-Man) book by the publisher who has already teased a new Spider-Title!

Spoiler Warning for Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy #3!
In the latest issue of Dead No More: The Clone Conspiracy a long-missing Spider-Man hero came back from the dead in the form of Ben Reilly. Reilly has been dead for over a decade, making his return impactful to the Spider-Mythos! Fan demand has been rampant for Reilly, Marvel admitted to wanting to bring back the character sooner in the aforementioned press call.
Both Peter David and Mark Bagley are no strangers to the Spider-Man universe! David is in the middle of a long-run on Spider-Man 2099 where Peter Parker has popped in and out of the series, the writer has had a long relationship with Spider-Man including a short, sporadic run on Amazing Spider-Man. Mark Bagley has a similar relationship with the character dating back years also including a run on Amazing Spider-Man.
Could the upcoming series be a Ben Reilly title from Bagley and David? Hmm.
I’ve always wondered, is it BAG-ley or bay-GLEE?
It’s a shame, but now whenever I see David’s name, I immediately think of the Roma dust-up. He was one of my favorites.
No love for Peter David on Web of Spider-Man?
And from the looks of the sales charts, another Spider-title is EXACTLY what Marvel needs.
