Never let it be said that Marvel doesn’t like to celebrate anniversaries of its books and characters. Case in point, today the House of Ideas announced details for Mary Jane Watson: Face it Tiger, a special one-shot arriving this August in honor of the character’s 60th anniversary.
First teased in Amazing Spider-Man #25, the character was frequently teased for many issues before making her first full appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #42 Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. with that iconic “Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot” line and Peer Parker’s life would never be the same.
In recent years, the character has certainly gone through the ringer. After acquiring powers and adopting the superhero moniker Jackpot, Mary Jane is now the current host of the Venom symbiote. According to the press release, this one-shot will offer a glimpse of what’s to come for the character.
