The TCA summer tour rolls on this week, and The CW continues to tease out details of the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths Arrowverse crossover. Today the network announced that legendary comic scribe Marv Wolfman, who wrote the George Pérez-drawn original Crisis on Infinite Earths 12-issue maxiseries, will be co-writing the Arrow installment of the crossover. Syfy reports that Wolfman and series executive producer Marc Guggenheim will write the episode.

Marv Wolfman has revisited Crisis on Infinite Earths a few times since the event concluded in 1986. A Legends of the DC Universe one-shot released in 1999 was written by Wolfman and illustrated by Paul Ryan as a sort of issue 4.5 of the original series; the one-shot coincided with the release of the first ever collected edition of Crisis. Wolfman also wrote a 300+-page novelization of the story, which was released in 2005.

The news of Wolfman’s involvement comes on the heels of loads of other TCA and SDCC news for the Arrowverse event, including the inclusion of characters from the Black Lightning CW series, the casting of Kevin Conroy as an older Bruce Wayne, and Superman Returns and Legends of Tomorrow actor Brandon Routh‘s return as an alternate version of the Man of Steel, among much more.

The CW’s Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event will air in December and January.

  1. At long last someone competent at handling super-hero characters to teach those hack screenwriters that “The Bold and the Beautiful with capes” is not a serious business model.
