BOOM! Studios has announced a brand new graphic novel starring the Lumberjanes, coming to a comic shop near you in October 2020.

Lumberjanes: True Colors is by author Lilah Sturges with art by polterink, and letters by Jim Campbell.

The story focuses on Ripley, who finds herself questioning her place at Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqual Thistle Crumpet’s Camp for Hardcore Lady-Types after a practical joke gone awry lands her in a whole heap of trouble. But when Ripley runs away from the camp and meets a mythological creature called a zebracorn (think: zebra unicorn) who convinces her that standing out and being unique isn’t cool. Soon, Ripley has taken the lesson so thoroughly to heart that she becomes completely invisible!

And as if that weren’t already enough trouble for one graphic novel, back at camp, Jen finds herself under scrutiny during a visit from the Lumberjanes International Head Counselor.

Lumberjanes: True Colors is the third time Sturges and polterink have collaborated on a Lumberjanes OGN: the first was Lumberjanes: The Infernal Compass in October 2018, and the second was Lumberjanes: The Shape of Friendship in November 2019.

The Lumberjanes were created in 2014 by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Brooklyn Allen, and Noelle Stevenson. Although the original BOOM! Box Lumberjanes comic was meant to be a limited series, the overwhelming response to the story not only lead to this series of original graphic novels, it has also lead to a bestselling ongoing Lumberjanes comic, middle-grade novels from Abrams books, and a movie currently in development at 20th Century Fox.

Lumberjanes: True Colors will be available in October 2020, and you can either pick it up at your local comic shop or get ahold of it digitally through iBooks, comiXology, Google Play, and other content providers.
