Director Rian Johnson is a filmmaker who has been building quite a fanbase ever since his very first film Brick debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. He hasn’t exactly been the most prolific filmmaker — his 2012 sci-fi film Looper was a decent hit, while he’s made a couple forays into television, most notably directing episodes of Breaking Bad. Johnson’s last movie was also his biggest — a little movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

After that franchise installment’s relative success Johnson returns to earlier crime territory of his first two films, Brick and The Brothers Bloom, with Knives Out, a whodunnit crime-comedy with an absolutely jaw-dropping ensemble cast.

The first footage for the movie shown at CinemaCon went over like hotcakes, and now, Lionsgate has released the first trailer, which you can watch below.

The movie revolves around a wealthy family congregating for the birthday of their patriarch (Oscar-winner Christopher Plummer) who turns up dead, gaining the attention of a detective (Get Out’s Lakeith Stanfield) to show up and investigate. The amazing cast Johnson has assembled includes Chris EvansDaniel Craig, Jamie Lee CurtisMichael ShannonToni Collette and Don Johnson.

Wait, is that not enough cast for you? Okay, then, it also stars Ana de ArmasKatherine LangfordJaeden MartellFrank Oz and many more, quite a few which you can see in the picture above.

Knives Out will open on November 27, just in time for Thanksgiving family squabbles… just please don’t kill anyone in your family…
