Earlier this year, Disney+’s WandaVision series introduced viewers to Agatha Harkness, a centuries-old witch played by Kathryn Hahn. Hahn’s turn as Agatha, both in her disguise as Wanda and Vision’s neighbor, Agnes, and in all of her magically-powered glory, quickly won over viewers, who have looked forward to the character’s return since the end of the series. Now Variety is reporting that a spinoff of WandaVision starring Kathryn Hahn is in development by Marvel Studios for Disney+.

Details of what the spin-off would be about are still under wraps, but Jac SchaefferWandaVision‘s head writer, will reportedly write and executive produce the as-yet-untitled spinoff. The conclusion of WandaVision saw Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), having claimed the title of the Scarlet Witch, brainwash Hahn’s Agatha Harkness back into her Agnes alter ego and leave her essentially imprisoned in the town of Westview, newly freed from Wanda’s unconscious control. It was frankly a horrific punishment for the character, whose only real crime was taking advantage of a situation created by Wanda in the first place.

But she’s wearing dark colors, so she must be the villain, I suppose.

The role of Agatha Harkness was an excellent showcase for Hahn, whose comedic abilities have been displayed in movies and TV shows like Bad Moms and Parks & Recreation, but who’s also been known to play a dramatic role in projects like Mrs. Fletcher and The Visit. Hahn’s next live-action big-screen appearance will be in the highly-anticipated sequel to Rian Johnson‘s Knives Out, so her profile is sure to continue to rise.

Keep an eye out for more information on the Hahn-starring WandaVision spinoff as it becomes available.
