Julia Walchuk promoted at Valiant

Valiant has promoted Julia Walchuk to the position of Sales and Live Events Manager. She’ll be responsible for running Valiant’s Valiant’s extensive convention schedule, including planning con exclusives, working with consignment partners, and designing and managing Valiant’s physical presence at events, all in addition to helping maintain important relationships with comic book shops around the country.

Walchuk’s initiative in executing a new booth in time for NYCC was just praised in our interview with Valiant publisher Fred Pierce, so clearly she turned some heads.

Prios to joining  Valiant as a freelance Sales Manager in the summer of 2017, Walhuk worked in retail, including Dreamers Vault in Minneapolis, and worked with 2000 A.D. as a volunteer Booth Associate at SDCC and NYCC.

“Julia is revolutionizing the way Valiant presents itself to our fans and retailer partners through live events,” said Director of Sales Matthew Klein in a statement. “Her ambition, insight, innovation, and work ethic inspire me every day. She’s become a cornerstone of Valiant. Julia is a superstar and the whole industry is getting to see it now.”

I’ll throw in here that The Beat has known Julia for a while, and she’s very smart and committed  – no surprise that she’s getting things done and getting recognized for it.

Valiant’s next convention appearance will be North Carolina Comicon at the Durham Convention Center from Friday, November 9th to Sunday, November 11th.
