Cartoonist Jeffrey Brown is back with a new all-ages Star Wars picture book. Starwars.com today announced Rey and Pals, a new picture book in the style of Brown’s Darth Vader & Son series. As the title suggests, this latest entry will feature characters from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, reimagining Rey, Finn, Poe, and Kylo Ren, among others, as children. Rey and Pals will be Brown’s eighth Star Wars book.

Jeffrey Brown is one of the most successful cartoonists in the United States,

After beginning his career with autobiographical comics like Clumsy and Unlikely, and humor graphic novels like Cat Getting Out of a Bag and Incredible Change-Bots, Brown’s first Star Wars picture book, Darth Vader & Son, was published in 2012. Since then the cartoonist has published six more Star Wars picture books—three in the style of Darth Vader & Son, as well as the initial trilogy of the Jedi Academy young reader series—as well as his own trilogy of young reader books, Lucy and Andy Neanderthal. Darth Vader & Son and its follow-up, Vader’s Little Princess, both netted Brown Eisner Awards for Best Humor Publication.

A release date has yet to be announced for Rey and Pals, but it’s likely its release will coincide with Star Wars: Episode IX‘s later in 2019.
