Vinne is a 23-year-old international superstar. They began their career on Instagram in 2018 and quickly became a leading figure in South America’s art scene. His work spans multiple industries, including music (a collaboration with Bring Me the Horizon and Never Say Die Records), anime (contributing to the EVANGELION x pixiv Fanart Collection), fashion (with his brand Hex Termina), and car culture (working with PRIX Workshop and PINKFLAMINGOUSA).

Now the self-taught artist is preparing to release MY WAY alongside Clover Press, a hardcover art book showcasing his best work from 2018 to 2024, published by Clover Press, known for its acclaimed graphic novels and art books.

The Beat reached out to Vinne over email to talk about this new project and much more!

DIEGO HIGUERA: Your career took off on Instagram in 2018. How did social media shape your journey as an artist, and what role does it continue to play in your creative process today?

VINNE: The internet itself shaped my art style and how I present my art. Most of the works are a representation of what I see every day on the internet refined to my tastes. Social media is still a very important part of the process but usually it’s the last part I think about.

HIGUERA: MY WAY showcases your work from 2018 to 2024. We can only imagine the amount of artwork you had to pour over, how did you go about selecting the pieces for the collection, and what themes or moments in your career does the book highlight?

VINNE: I separated the works according to the feelings they represent to me. It is a resume of every moment from the past six years. It was a little difficult to choose because I learned a lot through the years but I still had fun seeing how I have progressed.

HIGUERA: You’ve worked on a wide range of projects, from collaborating with Evangelion and Bring Me the Horizon to launching your clothing brand, Hex Termina. How do you approach balancing your work across these different industries?

VINNE: I love working on collaborations and commissions. Since my first Hex Termina release, I’ve felt such a good connection with fans. For me, I found balance by working only with people that I enjoy working with and learning how to be a good creative director.

HIGUERA: Your art often bridges anime, fashion, and car culture, quite frankly your art style is very, well, you! Internet Wide people who know you and see your art are able to point you immediately. What draws you to these areas, and how do they influence each other in your work?

VINNE: It’s pretty much everything connected with my childhood, just floating and coming back suddenly. My dad was a mechanic and I remember seeing cars all day, and spent my evenings watching anime, which led to my early interest in fashion and Japanese culture.

HIGUERA: You mentioned being inspired by Japanese culture and artists like Yoshitaka Amano and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. How have these influences shaped your artistic style, and how do you incorporate them into your unique voice?

VINNE: Sadamoto-san is simply amazing, a master I study by just silently staring at his stunning works trying to understand what he did. Amano-san is the mastermind of fantasy, and the precursor of this fantasy style, almost everything related to this theme, has a bit of his DNA in it. I have so much respect for this legend.

HIGUERA: Any words for readers and your fans?

VINNE: MY WAY is a reflection of my learning and applying new knowledge over a span of six years, art based on my feelings and from my interests. I hope you enjoy the book and thank you for reading this!
