As the recovery from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey continues over the Houston area – and will continue for years and years – planned events are rescheduling. One is the first Fandemic Tour stop, which was planned for September 15-17 at Houston’s NGR Center – a site currently being used to house displaced persons On their FB page, Fandemic announced that the event has been moved to December 1-3.
I’m also told that Fandemic will be starting a P.S. We will also be statring a Fandemic Tour Relief Fund, a very nice gesture.
Here’s the statement:
First and foremost, Fandemic Tour is deeply saddened by the tragic and unprecedented situation that has unfolded in Houston and across the Gulf Coast region of Texas over the past several days as a result of Hurricane Harvey. Our thoughts continue to be with the people in Texas, and Fandemic Tour wants everyone to know that the show will go on with new dates from December 1-3, 2017. In the immediate time-frame, the NRG Center has been transformed into a shelter for evacuees, and it has understandably cancelled all events through the original Fandemic Tour weekend of September 15-17.
Fandemic Tour will honor all tickets purchased up to this point for the new weekend in December. Additionally, we will fully refund tickets purchased for those who are unable to attend during the new dates. Please stay tuned to Fandemic Tour social media for information on how to request a refund if you are unable to attend. We are doing everything in our power to bring the same great celebrity lineup to Fandemic Tour that was previously promised, schedules permitting. We have already received confirmations from most of our guests from the original lineup. We will be posting the new complete guest list as soon as possible. Visit the Fandemic Tour website (www.fandemictour.com) to see which guests remain committed to attending in December.
Rest assured that Fandemic Tour will continue to put the fans first.
Given the NGR centers use as a shalter, being ready for the show was unlikely, and people are probably a bit too distracted for a fan event, although they might welcome the distraction too. (Houston sports teams and playing their scheduled game now.)
The Fandemic Tour is a new entity run by former Wizard CEO John Macaluso, with a strong line-up of Walking Dead gusts including Norman Reedus and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The Houston stop is the first announced event but we’re told more are coming.
