IDW Publishing recently teased fans to expect a celebration of the milestone TMNT #300 issue later this year. Sure enough, today the publisher announced Technodrome-sized plans for the landmark Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300.

Arriving this July from the current creative team of Gene Luen Yang and acclaimed artist Freddie E. Williams II, the issue will kick off an all-new blockbuster storyline entitled “The City That Never Dies.” The publisher is keeping things close to the vest but teased that the issue is a can’t-miss chapter for fans and will have a massive impact on the future of IDW’s TMNT Universe. In addition, the special commemorative issue will feature a back-up story from co-creator Kevin Eastman and fan-favorite writer Tom Waltz along with a roster of classic TMNT artists that celebrates the many eras of the Ninja Turtles.

Unsurprisingly, IDW is going all out for TMNT #300 with a radical blind bag program with an incredible lineup of cover artists, featuring multiple versions of a never-before-seen cover from co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, a stunning J. Scott Campbell variant, and more surprises to be revealed.

Earlier this week, IDW also announced details for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Training Day, an oversized one-shot issue about the return of Michelangelo as the Last Ronin as he prepares Casey Marie Jones, the daughter of April O’Neil and Casey Jones, to continue the epic battle against the Foot Clan and, one day, lead the next generation of Ninja Turtles.

Senior Group Editor Jake Thomas hyped up what’s to come with the following:

“300 issues! Gene Luen Yang and Freddie E. Williams II pulling out all the stops and kicking off an epic new TMNT storyline. What more could fans want? Well, how about a double dose of Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with a backup story in #300 exploring the legacy of the TMNT line with a murderers row of classic artists and a new one-shot installment of their Last Ronin saga with THE LAST RONIN: TRAINING DAY? This July, it’s never been a better time to be a TMNT fan, and we’re just getting started. 2026 is shaping up to be a banner year for the heroes in a half shell. 300 issues is just the beginning, the next 300 starts here, and I cannot wait to share it with fans.”

Josh Silverman, President, Global Products & Experiences, Paramount, added:

“For more than 40 years, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been rooted in themes of brotherhood and resilience. The Turtles’ stories continue to evolve while staying true to the beloved characters, classic humor, and action‑packed storytelling that have captivated generations of fans and cemented the franchise’s place in pop culture. Comics remain a defining expression of that legacy, allowing new adventures to unfold, expanding the universe, and deepening the stories in ways only this medium can.”
