If you’re racking your brains to fill our your Harvey Award nomination ballot, several companies put out lists of their eligible comics around this time. So to kick things off, here’s AdHouse Books:

Blue Collar / White Collar by Sterling Hundley
Centifolia II by Stuart Immonen
Even the Giants by Jesse Jacobs
The Downsized by Matt Howarth
Pope Hats #2 by Ethan Rilly
Remake Special by Lamar Abrams
Welcome to Oddville! by Jay Stephens

Our pick: if you are wondering what it was like to be around when individual indie pamphlets were amazing, Ethan Rilly’s POPE HATS is a fine, fine simulation.

Attn, publishers: If you have similar lists, please send ’em our way. We’ll run them all.

  1. I’ve heard good things about Pope Hats, but it isn’t stocked at Diamond and the shipping costs, ordering from Ad House to Canada, are prohibitive, so I guess I won’t be seeing it any time soon.

  2. Thanks for the linkage Beat!

David… We try and keep our items stocked at Diamond, but we can only send product when they cut a purchase order.

I was hoping I could point you to a Canadian shop that might do mail order, but I’m not seeing one. If you’re near TO, I’m sure Beguiling has copies, or better yet, you could pick one up from Ethan at TCAF.

In regards to our shipping costs… yeah, they are high. I know that since PH#2 would fit into a priority flat rate envelope, the actual cost would be $12, so I would refund whatever the difference might be through our store.

  3. That’s a thought, Chris. What if I ordered both issues (I haven’t read either).

Actually, I live in Victoria, BC, home to more than one excellent shop, but none of them have Pope Hats in stock. Victoria is probably as far from Toronto as you can get and still be in Canada.

  4. I think the USPS has a flat rate of $12 for their “flat rate” envelope to Canada… so anything I can fit into the envelope will cost the same. Victoria… yeah, I thought there was a shop over there that was stocking it… but maybe they have sold out.
