The first season of the Harley Quinn animated took its cue from the ’90s DC Comics “Batman: No Man’s Land” storyline with Gotham City in disarray thanks to an earthquake. Much like the finale, the response for the the DC Universe original show has been explosive! When DC Universe announced announced that Harley Quinn Season 2 would be hitting the streaming service less than a month after the first season concluded, I don’t think they anticipated the need for new content due to the current pandemic. But who are we to look a gift horse in the mouth.

With less than two weeks until Harley Quinn Season 2 debuts, check out the newly released trailer that teases what’s to come now that the Justice League and Legion of Doom are no more and Harley has at last achieved her goal as Queenpin of Gotham.

As executive producers Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern revealed during an interview with The Beat at NYCC, Mister Freeze and Catwoman, voiced by Alfred Molina and Sanaa Lathan respectively, will be appearing in Season 2. Sure enough, we get our first glimpses of Freeze and Catwoman. Moreover, we also get to see Barbara Gordon sporting her fan-favorite Burnside Batgirl costume designed by artists Babs Tarr and Cameron Stewart. In the words of Kite Man, “Hell, yeah!”

Harley Quinn Season 2

UPDATE: As Kaley Cuoco, the voice of the titular character, revealed earlier this month on her Instagram show Cup of Cuoco, her sister Briana Cuoco will be voicing Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. It’s the first major animation project for the younger Cuoco but not the first time she’s worked with her elder sister having guest starred on an episode of The Big Bang Theory as well as the upcoming HBO Max original series The Flight Attendant.

If you dug the promo, then check out this early look that sees Harley giving Penguin a taste of his own medicine from Batman Returns.

The fight for Gotham just got crazier. Join the chaos. DC Universe’s HARLEY QUINN Season 2 premieres April 3.
