The new DC Comics animated direct-to-video movie Justice Society: World War II is available now on Digital and arrived yesterday on Blu-ray/DVD. Be sure to read The Beat‘s interview with the cast and crew here. Today, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released a new video interview with Geoff Arend, the voice of the Advisor/Charles Halstead better known as the first Psycho-Pirate in the comics.

Geoff Arend, who voiced one of the Dark Knight’s most complicated nemeses in Batman: Hush, is highly regarded for his work as a series regular on the long-running Madam Secretary and Body of Proof, as well as having featured roles in the popular films 500 Days of Summer and Garden State.

In three interview bites (tied together) Arend talks about finding the controlling voice of his character, Charles Halstead; and the joys of bringing a shadowy villainy to animated life for Justice Society: World War II.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the feature-length animated Justice Society: World War II is now available via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on Digital and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray.

Justice Society: World War II finds modern-day Barry Allen – prior to the formation of the Justice League – discovering he can run even faster than he imagined, and that milestone results in his first encounter with the Speed Force. The Flash is promptly launched into the midst of a raging battle – primarily between Nazis and a team of Golden Age DC Super Heroes known as The Justice Society of America. Led by Wonder Woman, the group includes Hourman, Black Canary, Hawkman, Steve Trevor and the Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick. The Flash quickly volunteers to assist his fellow heroes in tipping the scales of war in their favor, while the team tries to figure out how to send him home. But it won’t be easy as complications and emotions run deep in this time-skipping World War II thriller.
