The Free Comic Book Day offering is not a sampler or a preview, but the actual first issue of the series.

Ignoring all that… this sets up some intriguing world building. The art is lovely, and we get just enough story to wonder What Happens Next? A complete issue, so worth a grab.

Yeah… the theme song is playing in my head… (There’s some Kryptonite / And sometimes we fall / But we get back up / And put up a fight…) AHEM… Again, I’m SO not the target audience for this, but I’m a cool uncle, and I’ve got an awesome niece who is kicking soccer balls, so, of course, I need to read this to make sure it’s age appropriate before I pass it on. No, really! … Okay, yeah, this is a great series of cartoons, and this is a sneak peek at the new graphic novel hitting shelves in July!
