Shoplifters Will be Liquidated #2 hits next month, continuing comics new extreme consumer society with a story of violently-oppressive retailers that have given rise to underground societies that live on their material cast-offs.
It’s a lot, and, given the widening wealth disparity and ongoing proliferation of retail options in this country, it’s timely as all get out. Well, now The Beat has an exclusive preview of Shoplifters Will Be Liquidated #2, in which you can get a head start at unraveling what happened after the debut issue’s major last page revelation. The book, which is published by AfterShock Comics, is due out Nov. 6 from the creative team of writer Patrick Kindlon, artist Stefano Simeone, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou.
It’s been a busy year for AfterShock, which continues to launch a wide-range of new comics in diverse genres. The publisher has also been increasingly active at shows. In fact, as I write this I’m getting ready to head to Baltimore, where AfterShock will have a strong presence.
