Baltimore Comic-Con is happening this weekend (Friday to Saturday), and, as such, a number of publishers are announcing their plans for the show.
Specifically, AfterShock Comics and Valiant have put out press releases with info about their plans. Baltimore Comic-Con is happening in Baltimore (obviously) at the Baltimore Convention Center. Phew, that’s a lot of Baltimore.
Anyway, we’ll go in alphabetical order here, thereby starting with AfterShock. The publisher, which will be located at Booth #2001, will have exclusive variants for Dark Ark: After the Flood #1 with covers by Leila Diaz, Francesco Francavilla, and Mike Rooth. In addition, it will have a con exclusive hardcover for the OGN Horde with a cover by Leila Leiz as well as A Walk Through Hell Vol. 2, with a cover by Andy Clarke (and signed by writer Garth Ennis). In addition, the AfterShock creators at the show (Cullen Bunn, Leila Leiz, and Aaron Douglas, who will have an AfterShock-hosted spotlight on Sunday) will be signing at the booth. Finally, the publisher will hold a panel at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, dubbed AfterShock Original Graphic Novels: The Format for Storytellers.

AfterShock will host exclusive signings at Booth #2001 with creators Cullen Bunn (DARK ARK, UNHOLY GRAIL, WITCH HAMMER, KNIGHTS TEMPORAL, BROTHERS DRACUL and the just-launched DARK ARK: AFTER THE FLOOD), Leila Leiz (HORDE, ALTERS) and Battlestar Galactica’s Aaron Douglas (SHOCK). The three will also participate in a highly anticipated panel entitled AfterShock Original Graphic Novels: The Format for Storytellers on Saturday, October 19, from 12:15pm – 1:15pm in room 343-344. The discussion will provide an insightful sneak peek at the sensational, singular stories coming your way from the three stars.
Then on Sunday, October 20, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm in the 4th Floor Ballroom, AfterShock presents Spotlight on Aaron Douglas, a Q&A with AfterShock creator and actor best known for his portrayal of Chief Galen Tyrol on Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica. Douglas will be discussing working with AfterShock and his journey as a creative with over 100 projects in film, television and video game credits on his impressive resume.
Fans will also have a rare opportunity to take home a limited edition, one-of-a-kind BCC AfterShock Mystery Box, a value of close to $200, for only $75. Contents may include graded comics, signed comics, rare variants, complete series runs and surprise items every comic enthusiast will enjoy.
Valiant, meanwhile, will be at Booth #2003 with a con-exclusive cover for Bloodshot #1 by Jim Calafiore, as well as new Bloodshot pins and shirts, and a five vol. 1 trades deal for $30.

Plenty of other publishers will be in attendance as well, including A Wave Blue Entertainment, Action Lab, AHOY Comics, Mad Cave Studios, Scout Comics and more. I’ll be there on the first day, and I’m pretty excited! I’m really looking forward to the Brian K. Vaughan spotlight on Friday, and have also heard nothing but good things about this show, even if I’m still a bit con-ed out from NYCC. But I’ll get over it.
