Carter Hall is a man with a past. Well, to be more accurate– Carter Hall is a man with many pasts. Reincarnated throughout time and space as an explorer and warrior; as a human and even a Kryptonian; Carter Hall history haunts him as much as it empowers him. After the epic events of Hawkman‘s previous arc, which saw Hawkman work alongside all his past lives to take down an invading army led by yet another of his own lives, Carter finds himself readying for the next adventure. But before we can move forward, we must look back.
In this Wednesday’s Hawkman #13, Carter reads the story of a life where he was reincarnated as a soldier in the middle of a cosmic war. When another reincarnated being appears on the other side of the battlefield as his enemy, Carter is forced to question his beliefs. Will this encounter “make him a more sympathetic warrior, or give him the weapons to better destroy his enemy?”
