The first arc of IDW Publishing‘s recently relaunched Godzilla ongoing series as part of the Kai-Sei era shared universe concluded its first story arc earlier this month. As teased a few months ago, this storyline fulfilled its promise with the death of the King of Monsters. However, this being comics, there was more to it than meets than eye. Although Godzilla’s physical body may be destroyed, his life energy (better known as Kai-Sei) was absorbed by G-Mutant Jacen Braid, allowing the legendary kaiju to live on in a new host body taking on a form dubbed “Kai-Sei Energy Godzilla.”
The Beat is proud to exclusively reveal covers and solicit info for Godzilla #10 from the creative team of writer Tim Seeley and artist Hendry Prasetya. Cover A features art by Hendry Prasetya. Cover B features art by Vincenzo Riccardi, and there’s also the Variant R1 1:25 poster homage cover by Louis de Martinis.
As previously revealed by IDW, this second story arc will see a legion of kaiju stampeding throughout the country and heading towards a farm in the midwest. At the heart of all this chaos, is a mysterious girl named May.

Can anyone stop Kai-Sei Energy Godzilla?!
The essence of Godzilla has been absorbed into a young man named Jacen. Curiously tied together by fate (or a sinister plot?), they now share a physical body. But no time to unravel this mystery—as without the King of the Monsters, kaiju have begun to trample across the United States!
Thus, with Jacen onboard or not, G-Force has made the decision to release Energy Godzilla. But…will they ever be able to put this Godzilla-sized genie back into the Jacen-sized bottle?
