The DC Comics fans around here loved the first issue of Peacemaker Tries Hard! — as documented by our roundtable chat on the subject — so when the good folks at DC publicity reached out with an exclusive preview of the second issue, we jumped at it.
First, a quick word about the comic: the book is by the creative team of writer Kyle Starks, artist Steve Pugh, colorist Jordie Bellaire, and letterer Becca Carey, and it’s tone is very much in keeping with the recent hit Peacemaker television show. While the guy who appears in the mainline universe of DC Comics is very much a different kind of Peacemaker, the one in this book is basically the John Cena–James Gunn concoction.
Brought to life by two of the best humorist in comics — Starks and Pugh — it’s a series that just works.
Why, you may wonder, are we posting this now? Well, because the all-important Final Order Cutoff is this coming Sunday, so the hope is you folks will read this, gander at the pages, and then headoff to your local comic book store to buy the first issue (if you missed it) and tell them to order the second issue for you.
Anyway, enough blather! You can find our three exclusive pages — along with some covers for the second issue — below, after the jump with the official solicit info from DC. The pages are unlettered, but it still looks like Peacemaker is now teaming up with Brain and Monsieur Moolah to find his french bulldog, Bruce Wayne. So in other words, genius is all around…enjoy!

What starts as the team-up you never knew you wanted takes a surprising turn that could leave Peacemaker face down in a pool of his own blood!
