Ever since Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s Absolute Carnage and The King in Black, Venom has gone on an absolute tear these past years. The symbiote corner of the Marvel Universe always seems to erupt in these violent world-shattering events, which seem to be continuing this August with Al Ewing and Iban Coello’s VENOM WAR.
Laying the foundations for VENOM WAR since the beginning of his run, Al Ewing’s take on Eddie Brock and his son, Dylan comes to a head. After the two begin to have terrifying glimpses of the future, the two men realize only one of them can be Venom, causing an all-out war among friends that’s tied into everything leading up to this point.
“This is what we’ve been building to since the start of this wild and way-out symbiote odyssey—the fateful confrontation between father and son!” Ewing explained. “Where better to have it than inside the squared circle? And who better to bring this all-action epic to the page with than my old buddy Iban Coello?
