Last year writer Ram V and artist Evan Cagle‘s 12-issue The New Gods series established a new status quo for DC’s Fourth World characters, with the residents of New Genesis now living as refugees on Earth. DC is now set to follow up on their story, and weave it into the larger All In tapestry. The publisher today announced DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1, a new one-shot story that charts a course forward for Jack Kirby‘s iconic creations. The issue comes from co-writers Ram V and Alex Paknadel, and artists Joan Urgell and Romulo Fajardo Jr.

Here’s how DC describes DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1:

Mister Miracle thought he could escape anything. But in the wake of unimaginable upheaval, Scott Free has taken on a role he can’t escape: Highfather. With New Genesis occupied by sinister alien forces, the New Gods have taken refuge on Earth, leaving Scott responsible for leading a displaced people searching for safety on a planet that is not their own.

Their arrival on our world will not go unnoticed.

Fourth World technology is being illegally traded on Earth, and tensions are rising as Mister Miracle and the New Gods attempt to peacefully coexist with their new neighbors. With their homeworld beyond their reach and their extraordinary technology falling into dangerous hands, the remaining New Gods must find their place in the DC Universe before the fragile sanctuary they have found becomes another battlefield.

The main cover for this new one-shot comes from the cover artist for the previous The New Gods series, Nimit Malavia. It will also be available with variant covers by Dustin Nguyen, Kyuyong Eom, Jason Shawn Alexander, and Javi Fernandez.

The New Gods’ most famous member, Darkseid, has of course played a huge role in the overall All In story. His apparent death kicked off the whole storyline, and his influence has led to the creation of the Absolute Universe, which a few people seem to be enjoying. Darkseid’s story continues next week in the DC All In Saga: Darkseid vs. The World one-shot.

The announcement for this new one-shot says that the issue “sends the Fourth World forward with a new story of survival in a DC Universe under the influence of Darkseid.” That makes it sound like the New Gods are going to be entering the Absolute Universe, and we can finally settle the debate of who’s a bigger, thicker boy, Absolute Batman or Orion.

V and Cagle’s The New Gods miniseries was a highlight of DC’s publishing output last year. Currently the series is available to read in a pair of six-issue-each collections, when what it really deserves is a deluxe-edition hardcover of the whole series loaded with extras. So, you know. Get on that, DC.

Check out the rest of the issue’s variant covers below. Look for DC All In Saga: The New Gods #1 to arrive in stores and digitally on January 13th, 2027.
