These look like a lot of fun, but I’m especially excited about the artist lineup. I’ll never turn down a Barry Kitson or Tom Grummett drawn DC comic. Hopefully this high profile involvement is an arbiter of the Legion’s full-blown return.

  1. WB certainly is desperate to make the classic characters into current cash cows.

LOONATICS UNLEASHED– Bugs and friends as superheroes

LOONEY TUNES SHOW– Bugs and Daffy as Jerry and George

WABBIT– a return to the original template, apparently a big flop since it’s gone, gone, gone

After this fails to bring in the long green, what’s next?

  2. Compared to characters like Batman and Superman, who didn’t have their best stories done until years after their creation, the Looney Tunes characters had their best films with their original directors. Trying to recapture the magic of those golden years is a fool’s errand. These characters are defined by their creators; without Avery Jones, Clampett these characters are just logos to slap on merchandise. These characters are like Groucho, the Stooges, or Buster Keaton; they will always remain classics and attempts to update them will always sadly come up short.

  3. Any excuse to read about the Legion is fine by me, and though Bugs went through all his usual schtick, word for word, it was fun seeing the LSH just treat him as one of the many aliens they encounter. Cool up!
