Dark Horse is known for going to great lengths to publish the best versions of Yasuhiro Nightow‘s seminal and ever popular Trigun and Trigun Maximum manga, and its latest Deluxe Editions carry on that tradition for a new generation of manga collectors.

The latest Deluxe Editions were initially announced back in May of last year and missed their intended release dates for Trigun Deluxe Edition Vol. 1 in December of 2023 and Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Vol. 1, which was initially slated for release in April of this year.

The Deluxe Edition will now be released first in September and will collect the original run of the first series in the new and larger 7×10 format, with stamped foil covers and ribbon bookmarks. The individual covers can be seen below.

The Trigun Maximum volumes will follow starting in October with Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Vol. 1 collecting Vols. 1-3 of the sequel manga series. Vol. 2 of the Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition collecting Vols. 4-6 of the original release will follow in November. Vol. 3 of Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition, which collects Vols. 7-9 of the series will then be released in December.

The publisher first released the two volumes of the initial Trigun series in 2003 and 2004, and the fourteen volumes of Trigun Maximum between 2004 and 2009. Both the original series and Maximum have also gotten softcover omnibus releases in a 5″ x 7″ trim size.

Dark Horse explained in a statement:

“In Trigun: On the forbidding desert planet of Gunsmoke, a sixty billion double-dollar bounty hangs over the head of Vash the Stampede, a pistol-packing pacifist with a weapon capable of punching holes in a planet. Every trigger-happy psycho in creation is aiming to claim Vash, dead or alive—preferably dead! Although Vash believes in nonviolence, he won’t go down without a fight. And when Vash fights, destruction is sure to follow!”

“In Trigun Maximum: Vash the Stampede, the galaxy’s deadliest gunslinger, emerges from two years in hiding to help his beleaguered desert homeworld, Gunsmoke. But the Stampede’s many enemies have kept their motors running, and they’re back on his trail and determined to bring Vash to ground–hard! And a new crowd of bounty hunters, badasses, and braincases are also looking to cash in the price on his head.”
