Dark Horse Comics has announced that long-time editor Freddye Miller has been promoted to the position of Managing Editor. Miller has been with Dark Horse’s editorial department sine 2008, and has held a number of roles there, including serving as an Editor for the past six years.

In a statement announcing the promotion, newly-minted Managing Editor Miller and Dark Horse Editor-in-Chief Dave Marshall both expressed their enthusiasm over the promotion and Miller’s role with the publisher moving forward:

“As the company has grown, we all have more going on than ever, so we have to build the best teams we can, and be as streamlined as we can, wherever we can. I am looking forward to supporting communication both within my own department and between editorial and other departments, and coordinating efforts so we can all work together better and more efficiently.”—Freddye Miller

“Already a trusted and respected leader, Freddye has long been a role model at Dark Horse. The precision, acumen, and dedication with which she has successfully edited comics for licensors such as Fox, Lucasfilm, and Disney over the years will now be brought to bear on the processes and procedures of the editorial department, to our extraordinary benefit, I have no doubt.”—Dave Marshall, Editor-in-Chief

Miller’s promotion is the latest for Dark Horse’s editorial department, which earlier this year announced a number of promotions and new hires.

The Beat extends its congratulations to Freddye on her new position.
