Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins is getting special treatment with an oversized hardcover library edition, collecting series I and II of Dark Horse’s original prequel comics. The first arc ran from 2017-2018 from writers Matt Mercer, and Matthew Colville, artist Olivia Samson, colorist Travis Ames, and letterer Chris Northrop, while the second arc just wrapped up earlier this month,. The latter was created by writers Mercer and Jody Houser (Stranger Things: SIX, StarCraft: Survivors), returning artist Samson, colorist MSASSYK (Gotham Academy, Ronin Island) and letterer Ariana Maher (Prism Stalker).

The Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins Library Edition – Series I and II Collection clocks in at 320 pages, and 12 total issues, telling the story of how the characters in Critical Role came to be the adventuring group they are when the series begins.

What do a flirtatious bard, a clueless barbarian, a naïve druid, a pair of stealthy twins, a holy cleric, and a vengeful gunslinger all have in common? They’re not sure either, but one day they’ll become the heroes known as Vox Machina!
