Last year, Skybound debuted a Creepshow 5-issue anthology comic based on George A. Romero and Stephen King’s iconic 1982 film that has continued with the Greg Nicotero-helmed genre anthology series. Unsurprisingly, it was a smash hit and the publisher teased plans a followup volume. Sure enough, today Skybound announced details for Creepshow Volume 2 that promises to be creepier than the first volume.

Creepshow Volume 2Just like Volume 1, each issue of the five-part anthology includes two stories by different creative teams from the worlds of comics, film, television, and beyond. The first issue of Creepshow Volume 2 will feature a story from writer Garth Ennis and and artist Becky Cloonan for “a disturbing tale of the unborn.” This project marks the first time Ennis and Cloonan have collaborated together and considering their pedigree in the horror genre, you know it’s going to be something special. A second story from writer/artist Phil Hester is about “a grieving son who bends the laws of nature to see his mother one last time.”

Creators for future issues include Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin), Dan Watters (Homesick Pilots), Abigail Larson (Sandman Universe: The Dreaming), Zoe Thorogood (It’s Lonely at the Centre of the Earth), Joel Farrelly (Tell Me a Story), Nick Dragotta (East of West), Alisa Kwitney (Mystik U), Saladin Ahmed (Dragon, Miles Morales: Spider-Man), Joe Quinones (Batman ‘89), Tim Daniel & DB Andry (End After End), Matthew Roberts (Manifest Destiny), Goran Sudžuka (Ghosted), and many others to be announced.

The first issue will feature a main cover by Guillem March, as well as an impressive lineup of variant covers by incredible artists, including Becky Cloonan. Additionally, Creepshow Volume 2 will launch a set of 1:10 incentive connecting covers by iconic horror artist Skinner

Creepshow Volume 2 #1 set to arrive in stores and digitally on Tuesday, September 12th.
