In an announcement video that will be shown at this afternoon’s ComicsPro presentation, CBR has shared a video and interview with DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns giving some details about the publisher’s Rebirth initiative.

Additionally, in an interview with the site, Johns has announced that he will be stepping down from Justice League with Issue 50. DC’s May solicits will be updated with the new writer of Issue 51.

The Rebirth event will occur following DC’s May offerings, where a number of series will have reached their 52nd issue. Johns will write a special event comic entitled DC Universe: Rebirth #1 with art by Ethan Van Sciver, Ivan Reis, Phil Jimenez, and Gary Frank.

Additionally, Action Comics and Detective Comics will have their original numbering restored, while the rest of DC’s line will restart a slate of #1’s. According to CBR, all DCU books will shift over to a $2.99 price tag (holding the line again!) and certain core books will shift to a twice-monthly schedule.
