This week we’re checking out the universal adventures of two pals in shrinking violet, the efforts of one heroic coach to rescue his trainees in Cornerman, and more.

60+ pages long comic book following a shy, awkward plant-lover and a charismatic rascal on their adventures in 3 different universes.

From the indie Polish comics publisher klub zin comes shrinking violet, a comic featuring a pair of main characters whose story (and art style) varies depending on the universe they find themselves in. Across 60-paages, the protagonists will wander through worlds of vampires, zip across a futuristic sci-fi city, and skitter through a metropolis of human/rodent hybrids. Shrinking violet will incorporate both black and white and color pages, and you can (and should) go check out a preview on the campaign page now.

Glass Assassin: A queer love story of action and intrigue

An 84-page graphic novel about an assassin who loves in love with his target. and regains a bit of his humanity in the process.

It’s Mr. and Mr. Smith in Glass Assassin: the story of a mysterious government agent named Dick who winds up falling for his mark, a vagrant with a complex past by the name of Jane. Coming from a background in animation, Micheal Vickner’s pages are full of momentum and emotion to match the story’s high-level drama. The book is complete, and only needs backer-support to hit the printer.

A 32-page comic extravaganza set in the pulp action world of the Baboon. 

Jamie Jones’ The Baboon is returning to Kickstarter for its second book. This time around, freelance adventurer Barton Marlow Jr., AKA The titular Baboon, is tasked with facing off against an old foe as he attempts to claim the fabled Gem Encrusted Skull of a great king. The book isn’t quite finished yet, but if you’re a process junkie, you can watch as Jones streams his work on Twitch, with a goal of finishing around the same time as the campaign itself.

When the world’s superheroes are captured, who do you send in to rescue them? The man that trained them all!

Super powers themselves may come naturally, but martial arts skills require training. Cornerman follows the world’s greatest fighter and renowned superhero coach, Drex, as he takes the training gloves off to rescue his former students. Meanwhile, younger sister Andrea is trying to use everything her brother taught her to escape on her own. This debut comic weighs in at 32-pages, and the team plans to have production finished and ready for the printer shortly after funding.

After a stint with Scout Comics, Frank at Home on the Farm is returning to Kickstarter for a complete collection. For the uninitiated, this four-issue pastoral horror series follows a man who returns home from war and discovers that his family has disappeared. The realization sets into a motion a gruesome series of events as frank struggles to unravel the mystery of where his parents have gone – and why the farm animals are keeping such a watchful eye over him.
